FOR PIANISTS AGED 18 TO 32
Approved from its creation in 2017 by the Alink Argerich Foundation, Les Etoiles du Piano is an international piano competition for young pianists aged 18 to 32 years from all over the world.
Organized in the Hauts-de-France, its aim is to promote the talent of musicians at the beginning of their career. It thereby acts as a real springboard thanks to the selection of recitals offered to the laureates at different festivals and renowned venues in the region of the Hauts-de-France. At the same time, les Etoiles du Piano also strives to make music accessible to a wider public by proposing cultural mediation actions.
To make this International Competition of Excellence a humanistic and convivial event, great importance is given to welcoming the young candidates during their visit: they are all given accommodation with host families.
The third edition des Etoiles du Piano will be held from 14th to 20th November 2021.
The auditions will take place from 15th to 19th November 2021 at the Conservatoire de Roubaix and the Gala will be held on 20th November 2021 at the Colisée de Roubaix.
The final is organized with orchestra.
Overall allocation €25,000, including the first prize of €13,500.
The Hauts-de-France region is very active in the field of classical music with institutions such as the Atelier Lyrique de Tourcoing, the Orchestre National de Lille, the Orchestre de Picardie, the Concert d'Astrée and the Orchestre de douai. Lille also has a number of well-known venues such as the Opéra and the Nouveau Siècle auditorium among others. The Colisée, in Roubaix, where the Gala will be held, is a prestigious concert hall that can accommodate an audience of up to 1,700.
This new edition of the Etoiles du Piano has the ambition to go even further than what had been achieved in previous editions, and always with the same objective : to enable young talent from all over the world to shine and in their wake, the region of the Hauts-de-France as well.
The Colisée stands out for the quality of its multidisciplinary programming and its desire to host the must-see shows of the moment. As the most well-known theatre north of Paris, Le Colisée can accommodate up to 1,700 spectators, privatize reception spaces and guarantee everyone an experience rich in emotions."
