FIRST EDIT OF THE INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION OF THE HAUTS-DE-FRANCE.

First Hauts-de-France International Piano Competition

It aims to promote young talent in early career, around the world. The contest "The star of the Piano" wants to be a springboard for these future professional pianists, giving them the opportunity to be judged by a jury of internationally renowned musicians. These "Chopin" become will have the opportunity to perform in concert, to integrate a network of winners and for the best, to be awarded a prize.

Who can participate?

Open to pianists between 18 and 32 years old.

Registration fee: 75€
Registration deadline: march 15th, 2018
Possible free accommodation in host families.

Selection tests : Conservatory of Roubaix

Closing gala : salle Pierre de Roubaix at the City Hall of Roubaix

First round - 10 & 11 april 2018
15 minutes per candidate

Second round - 12 april 2018
30 minutes per candidate

Final - Saturday, april 14, 2018
45 to 60 minutes per candidate

Closing gala : sunday, 15th at 3:00pm at the City Hall of Roubaix

1st Prize: 5 000€ and recitals in the Hauts de France (Prize Humanis)

2nd Prize: 3 000€  (Prize Caisse d'Epargne Hauts de France)

3rd Prize: 1 000€

Special prize "Coup de Cœur" of the magazine PIANISTE

Prelude and fugue by Bach, from the well-tempered clavier
or
Prelude and fugue of Shostakovich,
or
Interlude and fugue of Hindemith, extract of Ludus Tonalis: introduction and fugue which follows.
A romantic study of virtuosity: Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov or Scriabin.
A study: Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Stravinsky and Prokoviev.

1 - A classic work of the seventeenth to the nineteenth century.
2 - A romantic work of the XIX th century.

Free program with maximum, a piece already played in the 2nd round.

Concert of the 3 finalists - delivery of 20 minutes per winner. Duration: 1 h 15 with interludes.
The prizes will be awarded at the beginning of the closing Gala. A cocktail is served at the end of the gala.
