Peter Grote – Germany

Born in 1952 in Witten in Germany, Peter Grote is son of a cellist father and mother an opera singer. His training as a cellist is given to him by his father. Peter Grote won the second prize of Chamber music at the National Youth competition at the age of 14 years.
Then formed by prominent professors such as Paul Tortelier, Maud Martin Tortelier, Mirko Dorner or even Konrad Grahe, Peter Grote is graduated in 1981 from the famous Folkwang University in Essen, date at which he founded the famous trio Sanderi allowing it to occur in 300 concerts in Europe and record many discs.
He gets in 2004, the order of the cultural merit, awarded by the Polish Government.
Peter Grote also participates in many juries of music competitions. It is also in 2014 and 2015, the artistic director of the Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow and St Petersburg. He is now Secretary general of the International music competition in Harbin in China.
